NO FARMS NO FOOD

You can't explain it any better than that. America looses 1.2 million acres of farmland annually. This continues to be a disturbing fact and when you think about it, we are all involved whether we want to be or not... because we eat to live. Then there are those of us who live to just eat. Whatever camp you support, the thought of not being able to buy a beautiful, juicy ripe tomato in August from a local farmer during the weekly Market is distressing. It's bad enough that I have to wait out the winter and spring for my favorite fruit to produce naturally, while hoping I have enough canned from the previous season to keep me in savory tomato sauce until summer. The idea of purchasing a tomato that has taken the "around the world in 80 days" route to the super market could be on the horizon sooner than we think. Supporting your local farms and farmers is one logical step in the staircase of many to not letting our farmland disappear. No Farms No Food... click here to order your bumper sticker for free. The AFT is a great source with tips on how we all can engage and support the future of agriculture.
Sometimes its the simplicity we unknowingly yearn for.
