BACK FROM LA......

The LA Gift Show was a nice couple of days out of the studio and a chance to be social. { our cats were begging us to go on a mini trip } One of the highlights was taking my husband to the Getty where we had lunch on the patio in the midst of the most amazing views. The Jo Ann Callis photography exhibit was a favorite as we are already trying to find time to go back and see what we missed. { The Cardinal's are playing the Dodgers in August and that would get me out from behind the press in an instant } At the showroom, a fellow vendor, Heidi from Rock Scissors Paper brought up a quote from Tom Waits pertaining to wonder. I have thought about it a lot and couldn't agree more with his quote: "This is what's wrong with the world. Everything is explained now. We live in an age when you say casually to somebody 'What's the story on that?' and they can run to the computer and tell you within five seconds. That's fine, but sometimes I'd just as soon continue wondering. We have a deficit of wonder right now."

LETS KEEP IT POSITIVE...

So, you have probably figured out by now that I am a lifelong St Louis Cardinals fan. They seem to be in a little bit of a slump the past few weeks. In a perfect world, they would be on top instead of the 1/2 game back. {YES THEY ARE ONLY 1/2 GAME BACK} Yet in true Cardinal fashion, they like to keep it interesting and we {the fans} like to keep it positive by supporting TLR and his crew. Unlike a certain rival team who is currently "'booing" one of their players each at bat. Your either a fan or your not a fan. You cheer on your team during a shut-out loss or the World Series win. Tuesday is a new day as Detroit visits ST Louis for three games. No matter what the score, a little positive support can go a long way. GO REDBIRDS!!!!!

THE ST LOUIS CARDINALS WERE IN TOWN!

AT&T PARK, San Francisco a Sunday afternoon game...even after loosing yesterday to the Giants, 5-3, we love our Redbirds! It reminded me of the joyous 4 hour drive we would make to Busch Stadium on a sweltering July afternoon to cheer on our favorite team, the St Louis Cardinals. Yesterday, the fog rolled in as we had our beer and hot dog tail gate, a wonderful view of the Bay Bridge and lots of Cardinal's fans! My husband, also a fan since childhood, scored some great seats between home and first. The only thing we missed was the Mike Shannon KTRS broadcast. EXPLANATION: My dad had it down...when the game was on TV, he would turn down the volume and tune the radio to Mike Shannon's call of the game. Thank goodness for the MLB baseball package as even in CA we can watch all the Cardinal's games. We even, on occasion, turn down the volume, tune in KTRS on the computer and cheer them on the way to another World Series Championship....
